The FOCUS
Where do Filipino Entrepreneurs Go?
Philippine is a country where the system of the economy is capitalist. It means that one individual who has a lot of money can invest his money into a big business, later become on empire of enterprises. Some business tycoon well-known in our country today are the Ayala, Zobel, Madrigal, Tan, Sy, Couangco, Lopez, Araneta and others plus the foreign investor who have established business in our land. They are few individuals who have a large power of domineering our resources, our wealth and maybe you don’t think this one question: How much percent of resources remain on those who belong to the lower level?
Maybe this question is nonsense for some, but if you have a critical mind, you will know it is very serious matter you need to thinks about. Poverty is the main cancer of our society existing today, and sad to say many of the Filipinos are afflicted with it. As for their survival, they try to make some ways so they can feed their starving stomach three times a day.
As you can see on the typical day of our lives, Filipinos are mainly depending on the small business they have, a small business established from their long-time effort. On critical ways, why do many of this business can’t transform into a bigger one? Why can’t Sari-Sari Store expand its investment even it stands a long time? Why doesn’t a grocery store develop into a bigger one? And the last question is the most critical among them, why does the largest part of population depend on the small income they obtain from selling one such kind of merchandise like banana cue or “Tinuhog” stick meats put in the grills with the small amount of fire.
The answer is simply the Bureaucratic- Capitalist. It is the major cause of abnormalities happening in our country from the time of Spaniards until the end of World War II. Capitalist who have great control in our economy and even in our natural resources where our native land is rich. Capitalist is also a part of the so-called Imperialism, the larger degree of Bureaucratic - Capitalist which are domineering almost eighty percent (80%) of the treasures of the world. Mostly the victims are those nations belonging to the third World country or the developing one like Philippines.
Doubt not about it, it is the reality. A reality which always hurts once you know the truth behind. So don’t be astonished if our citizenry are still experiencing scarcity on their lives. Like us, we’ll soon be a future entrepreneurs and if don’t open your eyes on the truth, we’ll be the next victim of this cancer of our society.
