Love, Peace, and Music: Luzon celebrates IYD in Ayala Malls South Park
August 12, 2017 The National Youth Commission (NYC) led this year's celebration
of International Youth Day (IYD) with the theme, "Youth Building
Peace". Commissioner Paul Anthony Pangilinan, head of NYC Committee on
Global Mobility, emphasized the importance of today's celebration. "You
are the torch bearers of peace and hope of our nation," Commissioner
Pangilinan added. The "IYD 2017: Love, Peace, and Music" celebration
in Luzon held at the Ayala Malls South Park is headed by NYC Commissioner Paul
Anthony Pangilinan, with NYC Commissioner Percival Cendaña, in partnership with
the City Government of Muntinlupa. The music-filled celebration served as a
call for involvement to our young people and community members to take
affirmative action in the face of conflict. "Lagi nating iisipin ang
kapakanan ng ating bayan. Patuloy nating mahalin ang isa't isa tungo sa isang
mapayapa at nagkakaisang bansa," Commissioner Pangilinan said. Heads of government
agencies, United Nations Youth Envoy, and youth groups headlined the peace
concert. The IYD celebration is a simultaneous event all over the world, this
August 12, 2017 as declared by the United Nations. #IYD2017 #IYD2017PH
